Thickness is measured at the watch end and gradually tapers toward the strap ends. For example, 2.5 → 1.8 mm means 2.5 mm at the lugs, tapering to 1.8 mm at the buckle and tip.

Lug width is the gap between the watch lugs. Buckle width is the tapered end: it must be an even number from 10 to 24 mm and cannot be wider than the lug width.
