Alligator Leather Watch Straps

About our alligator

Our alligator comes from Heng Long and Ricco, and the skins are supplied with CITES documentation. Those documents relate to the skins as they are traded; a finished strap does not carry its own CITES tag. We do not make crocodile straps.

Each strap is positioned and cut by hand at our Da Nang workshop so the square centre scales run down the strap. Scale size and shape vary across each skin, so no two straps look exactly alike. Slim or Padded

• Slim: 2.5mm at the lugs, tapering to 1.8mm at the tail, in black, blue, navy and golden brown. We find it suits thinner dress watches and sits easily under a shirt cuff.
• Padded: a raised, cushioned centre, 4.5mm tapering to 2.0mm, in black, blue, navy, ocean blue, golden brown, burgundy, green, olive green and grey. Visually, it brings the scales forward on a larger case.

Sizes, price and ordering

Every strap in this collection is $145 and is made to order in 3–7 business days, then sent with free standard shipping, which takes an estimated further 7–10 business days to the US and 10–15 to other countries. On each product page you pick a standard lug width from 16mm to 24mm, each paired with a set buckle width (20mm lugs take a 16mm buckle, for example), and a length of S, M or L. For any other lug width, including half sizes, or for your own lengths, use Customise this strap on the same page. The buckle is never wider than the lug.

Each strap comes with two quick-release spring bars fitted and a stainless steel pin buckle in silver, yellow gold, rose gold or black. You can choose a butterfly clasp instead of the pin buckle, in even widths from 10mm to 22mm. For folded edges or other details, use our custom strap builder. Wearing and care

In our experience alligator is supple and softens to the shape of the wrist, and over time it shows subtle changes in tone and sheen. In our tests on finished straps, water and heavy perspiration could mark it, so we suggest keeping it for the office and evenings rather than sport or hot days. The strap is not waterproof. Wipe off moisture promptly and let it dry naturally at room temperature. Ask us before applying any cream, conditioner, polish or cleaner.
